Scout Values are the foundation of everything we do at the 42nd Szent Kinga Girl's Scout Troop and the 20th Árpád Vezér Boy's Scout Troop.
They guide how we treat others, how we lead by example, and how we respond when life gets challenging—at camp, in our community, and at home.
Rooted in Baden-Powell’s original Scout Laws, these values help young people grow into trustworthy, capable, and caring individuals—ready to serve, ready to lead, and ready to make a positive difference:
A Scout is trustworthy — A Scout’s honour is dependable; we tell the truth and keep our promises.
A Scout is loyal — We are faithful in our commitments to our family, community, country and to God.
A Scout is helpful — We look for ways to serve and make life better for others.
A Scout is a friend to all and a brother/sister to every other Scout — We treat everyone with respect and practice Scout fellowship across differences.
A Scout is courteous — We show good manners, consideration, and respect in word and action.
A Scout is kind to animals and respects nature — We protect living things and care for the outdoors we explore.
A Scout is obedient and disciplined — We listen, follow direction, and do our part—especially when it’s hard.
A Scout is cheerful in the face of difficulty — We meet challenges with courage, optimism, and steady spirit.
A Scout is thrifty and uses resources wisely — We avoid waste, value hard work, and take good care of what we have.
A Scout is clean in thought, word, and deed — We aim for integrity and self-respect in how we think, speak, and act.
Together, these values shape how we live, lead, and serve—at meetings, on the trail, and in everyday life.
“Scouting is an ordering of life—a style, a way of living.” - Sík Sándor
