Since the founding of the Toronto Hungarian Scout Troops in the 1950s, many children of Hungarian descent have been given the remarkable opportunity to enhance their scouting and leadership skills. By actively participating in the 42nd Szent Kinga Girl's Scout Troop and the 20th Árpád Vezér Boy's Scout Troop, they have enriched their connections to the Hungarian language and heritage, while fostering strong character development and a sense of responsibility through the values instilled in scouting.
In October 2024, the Hungarian Scout of Toronto governing body, along with dedicated scout leaders and supporters, united to establish a Not-for-Profit corporation.
We are dedicated to serving the needs of the Toronto Hungarian scouting community through education for the purposes of maintaining Hungarian cultural traditions and heritage and supporting cultural exchange with other groups, communities and organizations. Our purpose is to support the Toronto Hungarian Scouts for activities related to scouting such as providing necessary equipment and materials and by promoting a variety of places to gather for meetings, outings and camps.
